Nelly P. Stromquist is Professor of International Development Education in the School of Education, University of Southern California. She is also a past president of the Comparative and International Education Society. Among her recent publications are Gender and Basic Education in International Development Cooperation and Literacy for Citizenship: Gender and Dynamics
