The relationship between Vocational Training, Gender and Decent Employment constitutes a strategic axis of Mercosur to guarantee inclusive economic growth. In Mercosur, the approach has evolved from simple training to the transformation of job profiles: 1) Breaking Horizontal Segregation: Programs aimed at inserting women in traditionally masculinized sectors, such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), construction and transportation. 2) Recognition of Knowledge: Mechanisms for certifying competencies for women who have acquired skills informally, allowing them to access better positions. 3) Flexibility and Care: Some institutions have implemented flexible schedules and support for dependent care, recognizing that the burden of unpaid work is the main barrier for women to complete their training. For employment to be considered "decent" under ILO and Mercosur standards, it must meet four fundamental conditions from a gender perspective: 1) Fair Income, 2) Social Protection, 3) Labor Rights, 4) Social Dialogue.
