"It seems as though we may have a new variation on the James Bond/Jason Bourne prototype, but Leon Afflelou is a bit more complicated - and that makes for terrific reading" - Amazon reviewer

But their support does not come easily; Leon is persuaded into going under-cover on an Italian island; his mission, to find out why one of their operatives has gone missing.
Set in the 1930's, during an era of national distrust, global posturing, and improvised spying, Leon finds that he must learn new skills do what is needed to clear his name. After living many years in his mundane life, Leon Baker realizes with shock, that this might be the type of work he could get used to.
Is he merely an unfortunate bystander in a deadly game?
