In the period 2008-2011 held (at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Maribor) the European research project "Development of Science Competences in Natural Sciences". Just competences - based on didactic materials (for selected programs of secondary vocational, technical and general education) represent the target product of one performed phases of this project. This book presents two examples of didactic materials for the questions arising from teaching and learning practice on the chemical education. Each of both booklets is divided into theoretical and applied part. Specifically defined are topical generic and scientific competences (especially chemical) which the levels of achievements are students self-evaluated using various evaluation sheets. This book will be of interest to teachers, pupils and students-prospective teachers. Topic one seeks to the pupils of the Secondary Vocational Education program but the topic two is aimed to two target groups of the secondary school students, especially for the Chemical Technician Program and the Grammar School (for subject Chemistry).

Darinka Siko ek (1948), received Ph. D. in Chemical Sciences (1991, University Ljubljana), associate professor for Didactics of Chemistry, worked (until retirement) as the head of the Chair of Chemistry Education at Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Maribor, involved in the research of teaching methods, selfevaluation.
