The "coloured revolutions" that changed the balance of political power in the CIS at the beginning of the twenty-first century were one of the signposts of the new political realities. A symbolic resource in the form of a popular, attractive and flamboyant leader was an indispensable part of a successful political campaign, whether it was a "pink", "orange" or "tulip" revolution. At the same time, the personality of the political leader represented an essential tool to promote and maintain the atmosphere of socio-political transformation within which the "coloured revolutions" were carried out. Therefore, analysis of personalities of the political leaders of one of the typical upheavals of this type, the "Orange Revolution", is of great interest for political science. This study allows us to see all the nuances of personalities of political leaders V. Yushchenko and Y. Tymoshenko and the mechanism of the ongoing political upheaval in Ukraine from the perspective of political psychology.
