Student motivation is one of the main problems of teaching music in secondary education.teaching Music in Secondary Education. Our study aims to detect the main causes of student demotivation and to propose an innovation proposal that will help to capture their interest in the subject of music.to help capture their interest in the subject of music. We used a quantitative research methodology based on the completion of an ad hoc questionnaire for students in the 1st, 2nd and 4th years of Compulsory Secondary Education. From the results of the analysis we derive the scarce consideration of Music as a subject and the lack of concordance between the students' expectations of the subject and the reality of its teaching. The second phase of the study begins with a proposal for teaching innovation in the line of improvement and connection between the students' interests and the teachers' educational offer. A methodology based on Project Based Learning is designed, which revolves around the design and implementation of a musical Escape Room by the students. The motivation of students towards the subject of Music increases exponentially when it is approached from an innovative perspective and sensitive to their interests.
