The Sense of Nonsense is a sequel to Don't Read this Book Tails from the Red Fox. It is intended to be very humorous and very satirical. It is filled with an abundance of current and historical facts and issues which allow the reader to participate in reviewing overlooked areas which can be forebodingly funny. The same group of eight characters are discussing things in the bar over good food and much drink. These characters are "real characters." One is a creator of puzzles, another is a genetic botanist educated in Indiana and Rome, another is involved in espionage, and another is a retired military officer who serves gourmet food and offers fine wine at his restaurant "The Red Fox. The book runs a gamut from Indian tales and legends to understanding the rules of war, educational quagmire, fun with quotations and even gives Obfuscation Awards. It also contains An Engineer's Prayer, "Dear Lord, please retool before you manufacture any new people. They have so many things wrong with them, and they don't think too good." It ends with futuristic options. It is both very informative and good fun. The author is a graduate of Harvard and NYU and holds a degree in medicine and has been a psychiatrist for many years. He has reviewed cultural, political and economic issues which most people do not have time to do. The contrast between alleged goals and observed facts leads to a good deal of pathos and whimsical humor.
