The Sea Wolf is an adventure novel with strong psychological character written in 1904 by American author Jack London. His first edition of forty thousand copies. It tells the story of a man named Humphrey van Weyden, forced to become resistant and self-sufficient by exposure to cruelty and brutality. The story begins with him on board a ferry from San Francisco, called Martinez, who collides with another ship in the fog and sinks. He is adrift in the bay, eventually being picked up by Wolf Larsen. Larsen is the captain of a schooner seal hunting, the Holy One. Brutal and cynical, but also very intelligent, who rules over his boat and terrorizes the crew with the help of its exceptionally great physical strength.
