My name is Lauren Miyazaki, and I work for a vampire named Shiya. She's got me separated from my partner, Maddie, and watching this boring suburbanite named Martin. Martin's got two kids, Leo and Cindy, and I think she's clairvoyant or something. Anyway, Shiya believes in something she calls "The law of attraction," and she says that you create your own reality. Really? Cause I'd rather be back home with Maddie in Vermont than down here in Fartford Connecticut, watching a mild mannered alcoholic stare at a TV, right? So anyway, this is the story of me trying to get back home, and protect this guy's family. There's a few vampires in it, and most of New England Werewolf Pack 16 shows up, cause one of them is in the Ring, (That's the name our group), and in trouble. Actually, we're all in trouble, cause there's this powerful being named Gehenna out there who's trying awfully hard to kill us at very inconvenient moments, without any regard for our personal schedules. How rude So the story's got a faun, a famous retail outlet, redneck brothers that hate Maddie, a slave mine, some epic battles, a Big Flood in the back-story, and a lot of sappy stuff about how we all love each other so dreadfully much, with all our hearts, souls, and spleens, all in the backdrop of Easton Falls, Vermont, except for those bits that happen in another dimension along a creepy Interstate. Oh, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Like angels, and a zoo full of horrible monsters that think about horrible things they can horribly do to us. Can't forget that stuff, right? Most of us in the Ring are vampires, but we help people, so we're heroes. Yea, us Now, I just have to get back to Maddie with my sanity intact, without killing my client or my boss. Who's missing. Of course. Damn it.
