The brother is found and rescued from East Germany with a successful life-saving surgery is preformed in a secret Asian clinic. The main characters are then swept into a covert operation where one million Bibles are 'smuggled' into Communist China. Along the way, they encounter spies, typhoons, and Communist gun boats. Within the context of the of the story, a communist rebel commander, a freelance Australian doctor, and an assortment of priests and other odd but believable characters are found.
