Leo Leaper is an introverted 8th-grader whose sole aspiration for his southern Arkansas life is to become a published author, like his eccentric mother Patrice. But when he is visited by three sword-wielding young boys who speak of war, Leo questions how far his mind has taken him. On the last day of school Leo is approached by an old man that claims to have the key to understanding his visions. Guided by the man's vague instructions, Leo slowly begins to understand that his recent dream experiences are part of a much larger phenomenon taking place. One that even his skeptical step-father will soon not be able to ignore. In this lightning-paced novel with more twists than chapters, Leo will be pushed to the limits of human capability, driven by a centuries-old unexplainable force.
