This study was born out of a desire to design oral activities that take into account the cultural components of the students and of the target language they learn in the Bachelor's Degree in English Language Teaching (LEI). The activities have the purpose of making future English teachers aware of the role that the language-culture relationship plays when teaching or learning a language. The criteria of the Intercultural Knowledge and Competence (I.C.C.) rubric are used as a basis for class design and planning because they take up intercultural strategies that can be fostered in the classroom. In this way, the English class is not only focused on the structure of English but also on increasing students' intercultural awareness of other cultures. This study is framed in the qualitative paradigm, under the action research approach.
