Many years ago as I was pondering a problem, I felt the urge to pick up a pen and write. Out came something vaguely resembling a poem. At least it was verse that rhymed. When I finished and read it, I realized that from somewhere inside of me had come an answer to the issue that was troubling me. To me it felt like an answered prayer and for many years this is how I meditated. I called these early poems my "prayer poems." Sometimes I would share them with family and friends and often people, especially my mother, would say I should write them in a book as others may also benefit from them or enjoy them. Over the years I added other type of poems to these early prayer poems and I found poetic verse a great way to express my feelings about the world around me, about issues, about the people that came across my life, about love, about humor but mostly I wrote to help myself deal with situations. When illness struck I suddenly had more time and decided to turn this into a proper hobby. I found these poems a great way to communicate. But the rest of my story is in the introduction of my book. I will leave you with a poem and hope that you enjoy the others in my book.
