Involvement Load Hypothesis is a motivational-cognitive construct consisting of three components: need, search and evaluation. Each of them may be present or absent in the process of vocabulary learning in a natural or artificially designed task. The degree of involvement is characterized by different combinations of these factors.Task-Induced Involvement is the extension of Involvement Load Hypothesis into language teaching and research context especially for the purpose of vocabulary learning studies in such a way that the tasks with higher degree of involvement lead to learning words with higher degree of retention.
