In the study, The Effect of Interactive Approach Model (IAM) in Teaching English as Second Language, the process variables or strategies arte used to promote the learners interaction with the learning task. The main objectives of the study are to assess the achievement of the pupils in English when IAM and the Conventional teaching Method (CTM) are used and to determine and compare the effectiveness of IAM on the achievement of pupils in English language skills: (a) listening skill, (b) speaking skill, (c) reading skill, and (d) writing skill. For the experimental design adopted in the study, 259 students with 130 students in the experimental group and 129 students in the control group were selected from two educational institutions. The major conclusions were that the IAM is more effective than the CTM in teaching English as second language and there is no significant relationship between the achievement in English of the pupils and their socio-economic status, study habits, achievement motivation, home learning facility, interest and intelligence, when they are taught in IAM. The scope of this approach may be studied at all levels of education and training.
