The book is related to a study where sustained release tablets of Ranolazine,an anti-anginal agent were prepared with different polymers (Methocel K4M CR,Methocel K15M CR, Methocel K100LV CR, Hypromellose 50 and Eudragit L100-55)using wet granulation method. The release mechanism was explored and explained with the help of Zero order, First order, Higuchi and Korsmeyer equation.The study illustrated how the profile and kinetics of drug release were functions of polymer type,polymer load and physico-chemical properties of polymer.The book is concluded with an impression that a controlled plasma level of Ranolazine can be achieved by exact selection of combination of above mentioned polymers and also by modulation of polymer content in the matrix. The book will help the students and researchers of pharmacy discipline specially those who are engaged or interested in pharmaceutical research related to the modified release oral solid dosage forms regarding the application of above mentioned polymers.
