Gerardo Portela da Ponte, Jr, PhD in Risk and Safety Management from the Department of Naval Engineering at COPPE - Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, with a specialization in HUMAN FACTORS at Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering "The California State University", in San Jose CA - USA. Ponte, Jr also served as a researcher in the area of Maritime and Offshore Safety at the Kelvin Hydrodynamics Laboratory, at the University of Strathclyde, Scotland UK. He holds a Master's Degree in Technological Management and a Mechanical and Industrial Engineer from the Federal Center for Technological Education in Rio de Janeiro, CEFET RJ.
