'Report from the Judenplatz', written and compiled by Bath poet Sue Boyle, is an ideal text for drama and community groups who want to share 'Words of Remembering' on Holocaust Memorial Days. The 'Nine Lamentations', which have been widely published as individual poems, are here also presented as a 'Play for Witnesses' suitable for use by groups of any size and for performance in any space. The play has already been performed in full at literary festivals in Torbay and Taunton. Individual Lamentations have also formed part of Memorial Day events in Swindon and in Bath. The play is presented in two versions. The basic script is ideal for unrehearsed communal reading. The stage version, based in the Taunton production of June, 1916, contains director's notes and is accompanied by responses to the play by the Taunton cast and audience. 'Report from the Judenplatz' is a sensitive introduction to the study of the European Holocaust and will work well with drama groups of any age, as well as in schools and colleges.
