In this book, experiments were discussed in practical engineering chemistry based on the syllabus of Anna University, Chennai, to fulfil the needs of first year B.E/B.Tech students. Experiments in water analysis like estimation of hardness, alkalinity, dissolved oxygen and chloride content in water sample were discussed. Experiments using a digital pH meter, digital conductivity meter, digital potentiometer and digital spectrophotometer were discussed with detailed procedure and necessary explanations to benefit the students. An experiment in the determination of molecular weight of polymer is also presented in this book. In each and every experiment necessary calculations were provided to fulfil the needs of students. Also, special attention is given to understand the preparation of reagents by providing a detailed explanation for preparing the reagents used in all the experiments to create a better understanding in all the experiments

He obtained his B.Sc and M.Sc degree from Loyola College(Autonomous) Chennai, M.Phil. and Ph.D from Madras University, Chennai. His field of research is Adsorption Studies.
