Preventive action in the school environment is still a little explored area of activity, as it is at this stage that there is a high rate of growth, generating countless posture vices and jeopardising the student's physical development. Identifying postural deviations in developing individuals, such as adolescents, is of the utmost importance, but it must be recognised that there is much greater mobility and flexibility in adolescents than in adults. This makes it difficult to accept the standardised alignment of an adult. Schools demand behaviour that dismisses the inseparability that exists between motor skills and intelligence, since it is through movement that thought is structured, but there is no awareness on the part of the school, society and the family of the importance of movement and the bodily experience of children and adolescents in school learning. An uncomfortable body posture can be responsible for reducing the student's interest in the activities proposed in the classroom. At school age, poor posture is one of the main factors affecting academic performance.
