Perception of Truth: Myra and her daughter Mira lived in a truly amazing and somewhat horrible time. This historical fiction depicts a perception of truth that most likely might have come about by individuals living in their particular circumstances and this time frame. Life was hard at best through the first century A.D. and especially for the people of God. But what a truly amazing experience it would have been to have lived prior, during, and after Christ's ministry. To have seen the glorious Temple there at Jerusalem servicing somewhere near 600,000 Jews during the Passover Season; then to have lived through the Jewish and Roman Wars. But more than this, to have experienced this as a Jewish widow married to a Roman Officer. This entire story is historical in nature and is definitely this author's perception of the truth. Being a Bible history enthusiast, the desire was for this story to involve more than just the Holy Land; so our story spreads to Caesarea, Antioch, Ephesus, and even on to Rome. The intent here is to show the perception of the truth in all these areas and just how they were impacted by the followers of The Way. Then the ultimate perception is what was seen through the various Roman's eyes; as this entire area is part of the Roman Empire during this time. My purpose in doing this is as a service to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; as this story relays a perception of the Gospel of the Christ.
