Environmental issues are significant problems facing government and policy-makers in the 21st century. Since early 1970, Iranian officials have been aware of environmental problems and enacted detailed environmental policies and regulations with implementing organizations but little known about their environmental attitudes and behaviour. The purpose of this research is to study Iranian people attitudes and behaviour towards the environment and explain the sociological factor underpinning these attitudes and behaviour.Methodologically, the quantitative method was used when employing the questionnaire for data collection. The questionnaire was administered to 715 respondents in Iran. This book addresses a central area of debate in contemporary environmental sociology: to what extent do developing countries like Iran support the environment and what factors underpin people attitudes and behaviour. People and Environment provides a wealth of critical information for students and researchers of social sciences, development and environmental studies.
