This Book reviews the design and evaluation of different DC-DC convertertopologies for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). The design and evaluation of theseconverter topologies are presented, analyzed and compared in terms of output power, component count, switching frequency, electromagnetic interference (EMI), losses, effectiveness, reliability and cost. Thus, a bidirectional DC-DC converter with a widevoltage-gain range is desired for energy storage systems to connect a high-voltage batterywith a low voltage motor. The interleaved switched-capacitor DC-DC converter is used tointerface the battery with the motor. The interleaved structure is adopted on the low-voltageside of this converter to reduce the ripple of the current through the low voltage side, andthe series-connected structure is adopted on the high-voltage side to achieve a high stepup/step-down voltage gain and the efficiency of the converter is improved. The converter isused to perform regenerative braking of the motor. And also, space vector modulation isdesigned for 3-phase inverters. The system is tested on MATLAB.
