The nursing professional participates as a member of society and in actions aimed at satisfying the health needs of the population, respecting the life, dignity and rights of the human person. Given this all-encompassing importance, I see nursing as guiding a consistent and organized care process. I also see nursing as a key player in the health system, and so I realize that we need to study it more and more, and in a targeted way. We need to study it in the knowledge that its technical and scientific depth can change the health history of Brazil, especially that of each of our patients. Studying contributes to valuing our profession and is the only way to become a valued professional. In this book we will focus on nursing care, with research carried out in this area of knowledge.
