Think melons, shopping carts, teapots, trainers, doorknobs, taps, cookers, schoolbags, biros, plugs and pebbles can't talk? Think again. Jim 'Treacle-pudding' Wilson isn't weird, but the things he has conversations with most definitely are: shopping carts, teapots, seashells, benches, roadsigns, sailboats, a passing crow, a flip-flop, a watch, a stethoscope, pants and plugs and doorknobs, his trainers, a robot, a woolly shark, and all manner of other objects that you'd never believe could talk, but do. Jim misses his dad, who disappeared two years ago. But Jim still has his dad's old 'phone, and now it offers to help Jim find his dad. The two of them then set off on a fantastic journey, chased by two bungling crooks, and along the way have some amazing adventures. It's a true story of course - except for the tame toilet roll. (It was actually still a bit wild.)
