New Giants Rising will take a simple, sociology-driven approach to explaining how human beings function productively in a specialist-led environment. It will use the same hypothesis as Beyond the Days of the Giants (2013), but instead of a focusing on a change mission and reducing non-value added costs, it will use the sociological themes of Sharing Purpose, Sharing Quality, and Sharing Language. The call to action is for young leaders to begin leading their profession successfully in a modern value creation environment. This cooperative, simpler and more inclusive approach to value creation softens the underlying resistance of professional people to continuous improvement (they often view it as not valuing them and their efforts if it is improperly led). It is the foundation for leading modern cooperating specialists in value creation pursuits as opposed to the dying leadership model of competing generalists that the New Giants will be replacing. The book is an extension of Beyond the Days of the Giants in that it expands the audience for the value creation/commitment thesis from managing partners in large accounting firms (probably about 100 people) to all accountants working in the accounting function whether in public or private accounting, a much larger audience. The book will guide a continuous improvement rationale and explain the breakdown of their value creation systems - their succession crisis (Followership Crisis). The leaders' main strategy should establish the new mission of decision support, set up a Lean environment, and then set up a clinical governance system complete with specialist algorithms to facilitate specialist communication, referral, and growth.
