Lance and the brothers continue to have turmoil in their lives bringing them closer together as a family. Excerpt: The year was 1986 Lance now 36 sat at his desk contemplating what had brought him to this point in his life. He and Tonya broke up a few years back. She took their daughter with her. Tonya and Lance first started having problems when Tonya wanted to stay on the go on weekends where Lance wanted to stay home. Tonya worked in an office but the only contact she had were with people was her fellow employees where Lance interacted with all types of people. The bank often would send him to corporate office for a few days to over a week. He had an expense account stayed in the best hotels when he was out of town. That bothered Tonya and they began arguing more and more. Lance and Tonya argued over things that really did not matter much to Lance however to Tonya, whatever she wanted to argue about not matter how small or trivial she wanted to argue. Mind you, Lance was no walk in the park to live with. With his mood swings of being happy one moment then get mean as hell the next. His mood swings were at their worst when they first were married. Lances love for Tonya and their daughter helped him overcame those moody ways. Lance no longer wanted to hurt people as much as he once did. This last time they had and argument the argument started because Tonya wanted to go visit some old friends in another city and stay at her friends place the weekend. Lance had just gotten back from a weeklong training session in Los Angeles and did not want to go anywhere. Lance was always happy to stay home on weekends with his family and work in the yard. All Lance ever wanted was to be with his family stay at home on weekends and not be on the go all the time. Lance tried to keep his anger in check until that day. Tonya would not stop. Lance turned to face Tonya with a look of pure hatred on his face. Tonya had never seen that look before and it scared her she started to turn away but lance grabbed her under the jawbone and neck and proceeded to drive her into the wall. He stopped just inches from the wall and let her go. Tonya filed for divorce shortly after that. Lance knew he had to go talk with Tonya's father James Wilson about him putting his hands on Tonya. Lance had great respect for Mr. Wilson and wanted to let him know what had caused the problem. When Lance pulled up in the front of the Wilson's house Mr. Wilson was sitting on the front porch in his favorite chair. Mr. Wilson spoke to Lance and shook his hand but did not have that warm engaging smile on his face. Lance explained to Mr. Wilson the reason he grabbed Tonya and that he still loved her. "Mr. Wilson said" "I appreciate you coming to speak with me about this situation that shows that you are a good man. I know my daughter does not know when to shut up at times but you still should not have touched her. You should have just walked away." "Lance said" "I have walked away many times in the past but she would not stop and I lost control for a few seconds. I did not hit her just grabbed her under the chin then I let her go." "Mr. Wilson said" The relationship between the two of us is ok."
