"Love is often an insanely thing; Love is the most sought after sting." "But a man's life is nothing without the love of a woman; That man is king who has it, though appears common." The above verses are quoted from this book. The rest of the poetry in this book is similarly simple and meaningful. Most of the 53 poems in Love, Happenings, Discoveries are compositions based on merged love and life experiences of a foreigner in the United States some 30 years ago. Many subsequent happenings are also versified. The discoveries described developed upon reflection and understanding over the years. All names are fictitious. Also, normal poetic license has been used. We all know that powers of love are infinite. Love gives life a taste of heaven. And its absence makes it hell. Everything is a manifestation of love. These are the threads running through the contents of this second book of this writer's poetry. Love, Happenings, Discoveries is multi-genre poetry. It contains, as in multiple mirrors, the images of an uncommon story of loving and living. There is sweet talk, quirky humor, hurt and tragedy, giving up, reflection, and rebirth of hope. There are always a writer's particular cultural undertones enriching what is being conveyed. There are key corrective lessons learned. We search for love in others and many fail to find it. We got to first find love in ourselves. Give it away. Without any expectations of it being returned. Only then will love come our way. This is what in many ways most of my poetry tries to say. In this book, as in much of my previous book Musical Words For Singing Birds, I have tried to arrive at a definition of good love between a man and woman, and I've tried to convey that definition mostly through first person narrative poetry. Poetry's great power to touch souls is every poet's most prized compensation. If I am able to deeply touch even a few readers I will consider myself amply rewarded.
