High demands are being made on Islamic religious education. Apart from the educational mandate in schools, it is expected to promote a culture of acknowledgement of ethnic and religious diversity, the objective being the educational inclusion of all pupils. O autorze

Dr. Klaus Spenlen ist Lehrbeauftragter an der Universität Düsseldorf, Abteilung für Bildungsforschung und Bildungsmanagement am Institut für Sozialwissenschaften. Dr. Susanne Kröhnert-Othman, Soziologin und Ethnologin, war von 2009 bis 2011 Arbeitsbereichsleiterin am Georg-Eckert-Institut für internationale Schulbuchforschung. Heute ist sie Professorin im Lehrgebiet Diversity und Management an der Fliedner Fachhochschule Düsseldorf. Prof. Dr. Simone Lässig ist Direktorin des Deutschen Historischen Instituts Washington DC.
