Yrsa Sigurdardóttir, geboren 1963, studierte Bauingenieurwesen in Reykjavík und Montreal. Seit 1998 schreibt sie Kinderbücher, und im Jahre 2005 erschien ihr erster Kriminalroman. Ihre Bücher sind mittlerweile in 30 Sprachen übersetzt. Neben dem Schreiben arbeitet sie als Ingenieurin in Reykjavík.
