In the present book an effort has been made to give an introduction to groundwater specially its detection technique, quality, contamination and precaution for the storage & recharging are discussed. The importance of groundwater in meeting the growing demand from agriculture, industry and domestic sectors, but by getting groundwater form the water harvesting and groundwater recharging activity is always associated with an insertion of contaminants like pesticides and agrochemicals used for the agricultural purpose. These contaminants may convert the pure form of water i.e. groundwater to polluted water. The need of an in depth survey with respect to presence of such contaminants in groundwater due to recharging is taken in to consideration for the present study.
