It is Thanksgiving 2012 and Chance Keller Jr. a typical college junior, has just lost his father, Chance Sr. a fiercely devout man and commander of the army's Wolfhound regiment, to the war in Afghanistan. The loss devastates young Chance and in retaliation against the Almighty for taking his father Chance curses God while standing on his father's grave and is immediately struck by lightning. Chance awakes to further curse God and the act sets in motion a series of supernatural events that will teach him a lesson in faith. Fast forward one year. After a mysterious episode at a frat party with his Pentagram wearing, Goth-chick classmate, Regina, Chance returns home for Thanksgiving to find that; his mother Pam is seeing the county sheriff Joe and that he, she, and his hometown girlfriend Amanda are spending Thanksgiving Day at a sheriff's office dinner. Meanwhile across the county, a group of murdering, home invading thieves who wear monster masks, are looting homes and slaying the innocent. Once the dinner is over, Chance and his family arrive home to interrupt the home invasion and things look dire for the family unless a miracle happens. While across town the deceased Chance Keller, Sr. is being given one last reward for a lifetime of faithfulness; the opportunity to return to life to save his family. And, befitting a man who both loved God and commanded the Wolfhounds, he returns as a man-sized, bone-crushing Werewolf-like version of the creature. Now, as the long-fanged avenger, our man-eating hero races to the defense of his family and carnivorously dispatches those who sought to harm them. But the creature is not indestructible and after being mortally wounded it attempts to limp its way back to the grave before sunrise, lest it never be allowed back into Heaven and to see his family again. With the help of the county sheriff, Chance, knowing the monster is his father, chases the dumb creature as it frantically attempts to return to its grave. Cornered, wounded and with just minutes to go before sunrise, the mindless creature mistakenly attacks the sheriff who is forced to kill it as Chance looks on helplessly. But the story doesn't end there.
