This work consists of three essays that, collectively, provide a critical analysis of the phenomenon of corporate social responsibility (CSR), beginning with complications involved in the evolution of its definition from egalitarian intent to contemporary corporatist manipulation. The analysis also examines stakeholder theory which serves as the philosophical foundation for CSR. Finally, this study explores the dynamics of culture regarding the receptivity of CSR and also how political correctness within the academy has stifled continuing exploration within the realm of objectively studying national cultures regarding their implementation of CSR.
