This work is a compilation of two separate publications on the subject of chemistry and the environment. The first, Company-School Integration as a Tool for Environmental Education and Awakening to Chemistry, addresses the difficulties encountered by chemistry teachers in awakening and maintaining students' interest in the subject, presenting the results of a study involving the participation of the private sector in public schools where, in conjunction with environmental education, it was possible to bring these students closer to chemistry, as well as showing the importance of environmental preservation. The second paper, Diagnosis of the showers at Boa Viagem Beach: Physical, chemical and microbiological analysis of the water from the showers at Boa Viagem Beach, Recife/PE, highlights the reality experienced by bathers at one of the most famous beaches in Recife. The use of showers is very common on this beach, largely due to fear of shark attacks in the area. This study shows the level of contamination of these waters and the risks that the population is running, in addition to alerting those responsible for solving the problem.
