The soldiers had deserted their post and went 'on the scout' only to inadvertently compound their military offense by the necessity of becoming outlaws and bank robbers in their desperate attempt to evade capture by the law - - the law in the person of a lawman named Cazz Reed, who face they had never seen. But then too, neither had he seen theirs. All he had was his writ, and he meant to serve it, and with dogged determination he set out to do just that. Only one of their number was fortunate enough to escape the iron hand justice, and that was purely by chance. He is known only as "the Mexican" to the court, and now Cazz, the Lawman, is on the scout looking for him on a perilous pursuit that will take him on a dangerous and arduous journey, trailing south.
