Learning in the first years of life is essential to achieve the maximum potential for human development based on values, competencies and action. This study presents a reflective analysis of the current situation of Peruvian early education through the interpretation of relevant studies and publications, identifying similarities and differences between then and now, as a result of the pandemic caused by the spread of the coronavirus, and notes these effects in the reality of the educational actors most involved. In this research-reflection article, documentary analysis and triangulation based on the interpretation of interviews were combined. It is concluded that the child continues to be the main axis of the process and that the learning contents are based on didactic games; but there are marked differences in their development, material and technological conditions, parents' and teachers' competences. It is highlighted how the children, their parents and teachers have been affected in their daily reality by Covid-19 and the way they are facing it.
