The Author: Doris Wiesmann studied nutrition and food economics. She holds a diploma in nutrition and food economics from the University of Kiel. Since 1998, she has carried out research on international indices, nutrition and food security in developing and transition countries, and on health economics at the Center for Development Research at the University of Bonn. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Bonn in 2002.
