The aim of this study was to determine the cardio protective and antilipidemic potential of the some members of the family Zingiberaceae such as Elettaria cardamomum Maton, Ammomumsubulatum, Zingiber officinale, Curcuma longa and Alpinia zerumbet against salbutamol induced cardiac injury in rabbits. Salbutamol administered rabbits showed increased level of LDH Cholestrol and triglycerides and decreased level of HDL- Cholesterol. The results showed that the most effective plant extract was of Zingiber officinale, then Elettariacardamomum, Alpinia zerumbet, Ammomumsubulatum and Curcuma longa. So the above plants possess antilipidemic activity. In most of the plants it was shown that LDH level is increased which showed its potential towards myocardial injury except Alpinia zerumbet that showed lower LDH level which show its cardio protective potential.
