Her life was a battle from day one. Doctors said her medical condition would kill her, but God knew better. She's still here sharing smiles and spreading cheer in the latter years of her life. She spent much of her younger years in hospital wards apart from her family for months at a time. Learning to survive, even as a small child, was challenging but imperative. One of her earliest memories is of a staff member trying to drown her in a bathtub. Adjustments of transitioning from hospital life, to home life and back again, during those first fifteen years, were traumatic. Home and school presented their own unique challenges. As a teenager, out of curiosity, she visited a different church. She felt a spiritual presence she had never known before and heard a message that tugged at her heart. A week later she would kneel at the altar of that church and accept Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord. Wonderful things and terrible things happened in her life after that decision. She readily admits she has often failed her Lord through the years, but He has never left her or forsaken her. Many of her poems have been used in church newsletters and bulletins, in a church building campaign, and have provided comfort at funerals. Through the years many of them have been cheerfully given to individuals for encouragement and remembrance. These poems are a record of experiences, people and places from her life thus far. Hopefully, you will find them inspiring, and they will cause you to laugh, cry and rejoice
