Ka LA is meant to delight and provide insight furthering deeper connection with self, community, life. Here, now, I commit to say, do, be love. Images in Ka LA are original art, altered to emanate light. They are mostly oil paintings and of my creation, unless credited to others. Ka LA is the 4th book of my "Ascend in Love series," following E HO MAI - A Tale of Youthing; KALANI - A Leap of Faith, Hope and Love; and LAVA LOVE - A to Z Intimacy Primer. To enjoy Ka LA it is not necessary to read the previous writings, as I've added some clarifying prefaces. I am grateful for the 'ohana extended family of mentors, friends, a few fiends, and you fellow readers who manifest and emanate Ka LA -The Light. The islands' rainbows inspire poetic expression akin to lei (garlands) and mele (lyrics). Hawaiian words are italicized with English translations provided following each poem.
