Loss is the second volume in the Zalem, Mass. series. The story picks right up from Book 1: Constantinople left off. Although Zalem, Mass. Book 1: Constantinople had its fair share of heart wrenching, tear filled moments, the Vieiras were still able to construct a safe zone down at Winter Island in Salem, Massachusetts, which the called Constantinople, and were able to keep each other safe, despite the Zombie Apocalypse. Zalem, Mass. Book 2: Loss is a much darker story. It is called Loss for a reason, and readers will see the Vieiras start to experience this loss right from the first chapter and continue right up until the end of the book. Book 2 picks right up from the end of Book 1 with Constantinople being invaded by an army of zombies that are coming right up out of the ocean...a painful reminder that the dead can travel in places that the living cannot. Young Daniel has been separated from his older brothers and has been surrounded by ghouls. Junior, the family beagle, senses Dan in trouble and dashes into action trying to sound the alarm. WARNING: You MUST read Zalem, Mass. Book 1: Constantinople BEFORE reading Book 2: Loss...the continuity is VERY STRONG ADDITIONAL CAUTION: If you think that Book 1 was sad, and brought you to tears, then you had better have a box of tissues handy when you read this one. It is a hundred times worse, and even I had to walk away several times when writing it Overall, I promise that you will LOVE this story, and find that it will leave you hungry for more : -)
