Capricorn Saga (the first in the series) is the story of two youngbrothers living in Ireland in the middle of the 18th Century. The younger of the two brothers, Michael, is only twelve years of age when he leaves the family farm and eventually makes his way to Newport. In Newport he is introduced to, and joins, Captain Hobart of the merchant ship 'Grey Dolphin'. Michael soon learns the way of the sea and how to survive the rough and tumble of life aboard ship. He also develops strong and enduring friendships, which help to ease the pain of his past.
Michael finds romance. The romance between Michael and Mary is pure and wholesome; it epitomizes the strongest family ties and values.
Sean Kelly, Michael's brother, has joined the 'Wild Geese' and is forced to serve in the private army. The reader will travel through foreign countries and a number of battles, in which Sean demonstrates his daring skills, which quickly earns him promotion to an officer with distinction. Sean survives all adversity.
