This book is a narrative that I wrote as a rescue progressed. At one point I was about to hit delete and get rid of the whole thing. It was about to end that badly Then I realized that it was not about the results, but rather the process of rescue that I was trying to write about. I decided it would end where it would end, for better or worse. My hope was only that it would end well.
