Opis

First published in 1897 as The Libraries, Museums and Art Galleries Year Book, this well-established directory has been continuously published for over a century. It remains the most comprehensive and detailed reference work in its field. Now in its 50th edition, The Libraries Directory is an invaluable source of searchable information and contact data on libraries, archives and other information resources in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Categories covered by the database include legal deposit libraries, public libraries, special libraries, archives and local studies libraries, and library and information organisations. Full contact details of the libraries are supplied, along with details of access, acquisitions, stock and collections, publications, membership and many more. This new edition retains the same user friendly layout developed in recent editions, including the use of pictorial icons that allow you to distinguish the type of each library or institution at a glance. An extensive index includes library names, as well as subjects and major collections. In addition, the information is provided on a fully searchable CD-ROM, which includes hypertext navigation, browsable indexes, advanced search facilities, bookmarks, printing facilities, e-mail facilities and links to library websites.
