The microgrids can isolate themselves from the rest of the grid in the event of an electrical fault or an extreme weather event and prevent cascading faults that could be catastrophic. This book presents the components, features, and functions of smart grid. The intention throughout the book is to explain the material without complex equations and in simple language understandable by the general public.
