"Dr. Joja has performed an invaluable service. Understanding strategic culture is vital to defining national interest, thinking about alliances, and forging and protecting a nation's identity. This is all especially the case in the post-communist world. Dr. Joja's research is thorough, her methodology clear and rigorous. The result is a book of exceptional value to academics and policymakers alike. Serious work in this area is long overdue. Dr. Joja's book is an important step toward closing gaps and inspiring essential discussion and debate."-Dr. Jeffrey Gedmin, former President/CEO of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and Editor-In-Chief, The American Interest
