This book was conducted to prepare a new herbal endodontic irrigant solution (Mixture of cocconut and bromelain) from coconut oil and bromelain enzyme and evaluate it's requirements through: antibacterial action, apical microleakage test, push out shear bond strength test, effectiveness of smear layer removal, biocompatibility,FTIR test , surface tension test, pH measurement, and the effect of storage time (6months) on the antibacterial action, pH, and surface tension of the solution. The (Mixture of cocconut and bromelain) irrigant had a superior antibacterial activity against E. faecalis than 2.5% and 5.25% NaOCl solution. Regarding microleakage and push out shear bond strength there were no significant differences between (Mixture of cocconut and bromelain) and (NaOCl +EDTA ) solutions. The (Mixture of cocconut and bromelain) solution induced a moderate removal of smear layer without any sign of erosion, while the complete removal of smear layer by (NaOCl + EDTA ) mostly accompanied with dentin erosion. The (Mixture of cocconut and bromelain) solution was less irritant, produced less edematous effect and earlier to heal when compared to NaOCl solution.
