Meanwhile, 400 years earlier in Salem during the time of the witch trials Julie's ancestor, Mary Murphy, is incarcerated, awaiting trial. She is accused of being a murderous witch. All hope seems to have evaporated in a town ruled by superstition and fear. She will have to play the game by their rules if she is to survive beyond this ordeal. The future of both women remains clouded as they search for solutions to the problems which engulf their lives.
