But did his quest for musical perfection fly in the face of his notorious cynicism, defining his output as ‘redemptive’ too? This book is aimed at students of Art History and Aesthetics. It is the main contention here that the human predicament requires the artist to re-present his vision to others in order to redefine reality. To this end, the role of the artist is worthy of perennial consideration.

barwell michael john Mike has studied Arts Education at The University of Warwick in a part-time capacity for around twenty-five years whilst simultaneously holding down a full time job as a teacher. He is now Head of Arts Faculty in a local school and is also lecturer in Aesthetics (Open Studies) at the University.
