English summary: Judicial procedure is commonly perceived as being too lengthy and costly, while the quality of the outcomes has been described as unsatisfactory. Hence, this volume is dedicated to the economic analysis of procedural law. The contributions concern, on the one hand, such fundamental issues as the costs and benefits of the judicial system as compared to alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. On the other hand, they focus on more specific aspects of procedural law, such as the role of the attorney, the effects of the age structure of judges on productivity and the quality of their decisions, and the issues of the right to appeal and the efficient standard of proof. German description: Es besteht der weit verbreitete Eindruck, dass Verwaltungs- und Gerichtsverfahren zu lange dauern, ineffizient sind und nur eingeschrankt zu richtigen Ergebnissen fuhren. Vor diesem Hintergrund sind die vorliegenden Beitrage, Kommentare und Diskussionen des XI. Travemunder Symposiums der okonomischen Analyse des Verfahrensrechts gewidmet.Die Beitrage befassen sich einerseits mit solch fundamentalen Fragestellungen wie der nach den Kosten und Nutzen des Justizsystems gegenuber aussergerichtlichen Streitbeilegungsmechanismen. Andererseits behandeln sie spezifische Aspekte des Verfahrensrechts, z.B. die Rolle des Anwalts, die Auswirkungen der Altersstruktur der Richter auf Produktivitat und Qualitat der Entscheidungen, die Frage nach dem Zugang zu Rechtsmitteln und der Ausstattung der Instanzen oder die Frage, welches Beweismass zum effizienten Grad von Gewissheit seitens des Richters fuhrt.
